New groups utilising YMCA space

We have some new groups utilising the space at YMCA including:

The SEA Group (Someone Else’s Addiction) which provides information advice and support for those trying to cope with a family member with an addition. The group meets every Wednesday between 12 noon and 2pm. This group has done so well since they set up and not only do they have their constitution, they have also been successful in accessing funding from Awards for All.  Well done SEA!

The Patchwork Group now meets at the YMCA on a Wednesday evening at 6:30.  For further information contact annie Brown at East Ayrshire Volunteer Centre.

EAC’s Education Department is running a new project in Partnership with Ayrshire College for kids who do not attend school full time. They utilise the YMCA’s premises every Tuesday and Thursday between 2pm – 4pm and are working towards the Princes Trust Achieve Qualification. The tuition is being delivered by Ayrshire college staff and will run from September 2016 through until June 2017.  The young students, as part of their project, will be providing a lunch for Kilmarnock YMCA's Drop In members on the 11th May.

The Yoga Class continues to run on Sunday morning from 9:30–11am and cost £6 per person, per week or £30 for a six week block. The class is run by Susan Staddon, a qualified Yoga Tutor who already delivers a very successful class for Kilmarnock Leisure Education Association on a Monday evening. Susan’s classes fill up fast, so to avoid disappointment, get along on a Sunday morning and secure your place.

Kilmarnock YMCA is currently applying to OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator) for SCIO status (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation)

The Annual General Meeting of Kilmarnock YMCA will take place on Tuesday 23rd May at 7:30.

Kilmarnock YMCA will be taking a stall at the annual Kay Park Fun Day on the 2nd August this year

Two young members of Kilmarnock YMCA recently represented their youth club at the Voluntary Action Fund's Expressive Arts competition at the Lighthouse in Glasgow.  Although Kilmarnock YMCA didn't win, it was a wonderful expereince for the two youngsters and we still think that our film was great!  Here is the link so you can see for yourself!  https://we.El/8EiKFTHCny.
